Day3! [After a refreshing night’s sleep, freshmen and OGLs alike were ready to open Day 3 with a cheering session! Everyone screamed their lungs out and shouted the school cheers with gusto. Enthusiastic freshmen took turns running up the stage to lead the school cheers, and it was not long before our throats were all sore. However, this deterred neither the freshmen nor the OGLs, as everyone continued to shout themselves hoarse. After a short water break , everyone gathered back in the hall to receive instructions for… (drumroll please)… CLUEDO! Yes, the day’s highlight was a mass game of Cluedo. The main aim was, of course, to find out who tried to kill Queen Victoria under Ananke’s orders: the Duchess, the Chancellor, the Jester, the Lady or the Earl. Sub-OG’s ran around school playing games, listening to recordings, studying evidence and questioning suspects. Kudos to the SCs who acted as the suspects and were dressed up in super hot Victorian (the era) costumes. One particularly memorable suspect was the Lady, played by Sarah Leong. I’m sure many were frightened by her cool demeanor, accompanied by the ever present rolling of eyes. Other suspects, like the Duchess (played by Geraldine Quek), were detached and evaded our questions. Getting answers from them was similar to squeezing toothpaste out of an almost empty tube- tiring, yet oddly satisfying when yielded results. All in all, Cluedo was packed full of questions, some without answers. For example:Why does the paper smell like milk tea? Is this poison actually mint syrup? Why is the Chancellor (played by Collin Tang) holding a mobile phone? And of course, the most important one being: WHO DID IT?!?!?! Well, as most people will know by now, we were sadly, disappointingly, very, very, very wrong… Who would have thought that the innocent-looking Earl would be able to commit such a terrible deed? After a quick and delicious lunch, it was time for the CCA briefing by Mr Yong and then the highly anticipated annual CCA walkabout! Freshmen were let loose and allowed to roam free and easy around school, browsing through various CCA booths. CCAs competed to draw the freshmens’ attention by tapping on their unique points. For example, VJ Dance Ensemble dancers were seen strutting their stuff to hit songs like Womanizer. Others, like Interact Club, gave out cute little hearts as souvenirs and who could miss the House Comm-ers marching around in Tweety Bird nightgowns? I’m sure the freshmen were indeed wow-ed by the many different CCAs VJ had to offer, ranging from sports like Floorball, to performing arts like the Strings Ensemble, to clubs and societies like Subjectif. I think i was damn kiasu, i went to write my name on ALOT of sign up forms! Haha, like squash, golf, badminton, house comm, photography society, biz club, first aid club, interact club, dance club(cos josie and caijia sort of convinced me to go try for it)! But i realised alot of people also did the same thing luh. :D Illumus had our OG dinner at the Airport! Wah it was really cool as almost the whole group's at the viewing hall playing games, 'real quietly' to prevent from disturbing the weird guy sleeping there. Lol, he's really pissed with us luh. At first we thought we're going to the cafeteria but it's closed! So we split up and bought our food to the viewing hall to eat and after that it's games time! Haha julynn super scared of zhiwei while zhiyang's super scared of stella. All cos of the ouch game! Jai and i wanted to stay later but then it's too late already! like 9plus and by the time we reached home it's like 10 plus! Day 4! [Day 4 kicked off in a serious mood with Mr Yeo and Mr Fong’s speeches in the morning.(where they talked about the boy being injured on the knees, his knees were totally dislocated! By a girl somemore! And the thing about not taping anything on the new floor of the hall.) But before long, the freshmen were hyped up once again with the commencement of mass dances! The mass dance ICs taught us the friendship dance (I DON'T like the friendship dance) as well as the famously-uber-hard-yet-super-fun-cos-you-can-shout-while-dancing, I WANT YOU!!!!! Though the steps were indeed hard to catch, many of the freshmen managed to catch on with the help of the ever patient Madics as well as their OGLs. Enthusiastic freshmen also ran up the stage to demonstrate their skill at the “mashed potato”, winning cheers as well as many many many points! Whiney whiney whiney woo! 1st & 2nd day!

The first day of school was scary. Okay not luh. Just that suddenly we have to be in a totally new school with new faces, new buildings, new.. everything. Maybe i'm the only one that isn't new! I remembered meeting Elizabeth, June, Shiyun, Valerie at the main gate and we were confused as to what time to meet since some say 730am, some say 8am. The 730 ones registered first so Elizabeth, Shiyun and i went to the canteen to grab some food! OH and they register us through our ICs number luh bleah. And there's like 80% science stream, 20% arts stream only! Hmmm. We queued and took our mug shots and orientation packages and stuffs before going to the PT to assemble. The principal was all about having fun! I mean, throughout his speeches there's so many 'out having fun' that i can't even count with my fingers. Okay, exaggerated. After all the admin stuffs, it's finally time to meet our new friends! Mine is Illumus's Ilzotic! I think our group's quite nice. And Zhiyang doesn't look very teacher-y like how he sounds like on the phone! I think white/grey love me alot these days. Red camp posted me to grey- Spartans! VJ orientation posted me to white-Illumus! There's like so many other colours but i got in the neutrals, twice! Fate. I like their orientation tees leh. And i'm glad i don't have any yellow class/school tee from XMS! I seriously have to train up my voice, it's like so soft during orientation lo. Oh and i told everyone i'm never going to join dance again! Lol. [It was only after lunch that the Orientation program officially commenced with our 4 emcees starting things off with their lame jokes. After which, all the 8 OGs putting up their walk-in skit which they had taken ages to plan. The OGLs managed to think of everything to include in the skits, from using a Super Soaker as a gun, to carrying the heroes on a chair at shoulder level using bamboo poles to the song You Raise Me Up, etc. OGLs managed to pull out all the stops, making practically each and every skit really entertaining. Not to mention the costumes of the 8 OG Heads screamed “C-R-E-A-T-I-V-I-T-Y” at every turn, making the entire atmosphere all the more exciting with their colourful costumes around. We had some station games on the first day, though it was more of a school tour for the freshmen. The aim of the game was to let freshmen know the school a little bit better so that they wouldn’t get lost around the school, but honestly, did anyone really believe they were going to keep track of where everything was instead of just following their OGLs around who’d be rushing them from station to station? It kind of ended up like a duller version of the dry games stations of Day 2. This pretty much sums up the day, taken from http://blog.vjc.sg/perspectif. LOL i know i'm super lazy. And by the time i'm home, it's like 7plus 8 already! Then this guy living at the same block as me, saw me in VJ pe tee and said "Wa, seems like VJ's quite popular around here, my daughter also study in VJ leh! You know her?" Of cos i don't, considering the fact that i just went there for a day. Haha. Day 2! [They kicked off the day with mass dance and cheering sessions, carrying on with La bamba and Tribal dance, which freshmen received with mixed reactions. Some obviously loved dancing but some just did the actions for the sake of doing them, but to me it was quite amazing how many freshmen were really into the whole thing. To go from not dancing at all to being willing to do the tribal shake with plenty of gusto (if you could call it that) is really quite something, probably shows what a good job us OGLs did in trying to spread the VJ spirit. Somehow i think learning the dances were okay la, just that sometimes i will keep forgetting the dance steps and i hate learning dance steps with the people facing me and teaching me. I just need to follow from behind. And there's like only one guy facing his back towards us :( And then cheering sessions were cool cos i love the illumus cheer! Easy and impactful. ILLU ILLUMUS WOOSH WOOSH! x6 times? LOL and the boom boom shake shake laboom! Oh and i think the OGLs know alot of games! Like the hainan ji fan, big fish small fish that i always get it wrong! After subject briefings during lunch came the dry station games. There were classics like Human Foosball, Captain’s Ball with different “balls”, sharing spaghetti among two people’s mouths, etc. However the game where 8 Sub-OGs were fighting for clothes pegs off each others’ clothing turned into quite a frenzy, with girls screaming and guys trying their best to hold back their screams. All in all, everyone had a blast during the games, and it definitely helped to hype the freshmen up with them being excited and all. Unfortunately, they would have to channel that enthusiasm to the next day for dry games was the last activity of the second day. I like the human foosball! It's like so fun except that the ball kept going out of the courts. And my arms were sore from all the pulling! And Ilzlotic shared the spaghetti and out of it so fast that the other groups were stunned lo! :DDD For the clothes peg thingy, i can't rmb what it is about. Did we try it at all? There's this number game and both groups were stuck for super long luh! That was basically it for Day 2, mass dances, cheering and station games took up most of the time. And of course not to mention the endless random cheers that just kept popping up in the hall. At the end of the day, the OG Heads put up the final skit to reveal the rankings of all 8 OGs at that point in time.... ] Haha, again from http://blog.vjc.sg/perspectif. Then after that we went to eat at the astons! Okay, only Stella, Meng Yee, Zhi Wei, Benjamin, Wan Swen, Zhiyang, Julynn and me went there but it was fun playing all the mind games! I think i'm super dumb loh, like till now i can't guess the grandma thing. :((( Oh and now i know there's a Roxy square in Singapore! Friday, January 30, 2009, 10:54 PM
I can't remember what i did on friday and saturday. But i rmb i went to play badminton with Regina Sherry PeiQi Yunjia KiangSiang Amos Hweekiat Sinkuan at Hougang sports hall! Regina and i went to run around the track and she ran 6 rounds loh! I ran 4 rounds and i'm almost dead can. We wanted to bluff the rest that we went swimming that's why so sweaty but regina forgot about it!!! Hahaha we still tried luh :DD Badminton was fun and tiring! Orange F&N super nice :D After that we walked all the way to Hougang Mall's food court to eat. Weirdly, i felt super hungry on the way there but i can't finish the food. :??? Ohya, i'm in VJC's Illumus orientation group! They seems to have separated all the xinmin people cos i asked everyone and everyone's group is different! :X Thursday, January 29, 2009, 7:06 AM
Thursday was another happy day before school officially starts! Regina, Yunjia, Peiqi and I met earlier cos we going to sengkang's swimming pool to swim! We were super zai leh we walked from compass point all the way to the swimming pool lo! And we walked one big round cos we thought we're walking the shortest route but it's not luh. :X The place looks super cool lo! There's 8? (I think) slides and everything looks so new! Like a mini Wild Wild Wet but the price is sooo much cheaper! So we went in, but regina and peiqi don't have swim wear and i accompany them to wear tanks then the lifeguards saw us when we just reached and applied all our sunblock and sat at the poolside luh so sad can. He say must wear swim wear. Mine can fake off but Regina and Peiqi ones are too obvious lo so sad so ya in the end we go there for nothing! Off to bathe and go back compass point for lunch/dinner=lunner/dunch! We ate Burger King hehe and i ordered milo again! :D After that we trained to Little India and walked all the way to bugis to meet Sherry! wow we took a long while to reach bugis but it's fun walking around and exploring leh! :D So ALL THE WAY there we took LOTSA photos! Haha so fun i love taking photos leh how i wish everyday like that and i can be photogenic everyday! Ok not like i'm ever photogenic lol. Found Haji Lane at last and we camwhored all the way to the end of the lane before walking back to see see look look at the boutiques! At first i thought the shops there should be selling those super cheap stuffs but how wrong am I! They say the boutiques here sell really rare clothes/accessories so they are mostly super expensive loh. So true. One clothes hanger cost $30plus la crazy. I love this picture loh!!!!!! Very artsy huh :DD Like the scene in IPMAN! ![]() My photography skills not bad right! ![]() Haha i don't know why i find this picture very amusing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Regina and I going mental! See i fit everyone in to the photo! ![]() ![]() ![]() The ever handsome! ![]() SEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay i'm in love with my photography skills. HA. I think the shopping made me sian leh. Why ar, normally i will be so hyped up when it comes to shopping! But now it's like taking photos that time i super high then suddenly shopping boom! start yawning liao LOL. We walked alot leh, and by the time we walked to the bus stop (after walking pass at least 6 busstops with no 51), we actually walked more than 20, 000 steps! HAha they say we have to walk at least 10,000 steps a day right, that means we can save a day's worth of walking isit! :DDD |
